Know Your Football Opponent Waldorf

Today we quickly look at this week's football opponent Waldorf.

But first a look back over the week…

The men's golf finished 15th out of 17 teams at the Iowa Wesleyan Tournament with Adriaan de Villiers finishing 23rd out of 100 golfers. While the Lady Statesmen, finished 5th out of 13 teams at the Concordia Invitational. Maggie Yang was the Lady Statesmen’s highest finisher placing 9th out of 77 athletes.

Women's volleyball picked up a win over Waldorf on Tuesday improving their overall record to 8-6, 1-1 MCC. The Lady Statesmen will play in the Ashford Tournament this upcoming weekend.

Last weekend, Cross Country participated in the Luther Invitational. Lead runner for the men was Nick Reynolds with a time of 22:43 (100th place) and lead runner for the women was Kyra English with a time of 22:08 (131st place). Statesmen & Lady Statesmen will head to the Iowa Intercollegiate Championships in Ames, Iowa this weekend.

Men's and women’s soccer continue their fall season action. The WPU men were defeated by St. Mary (Kan.) on Friday 1-2 and tied Illinois College on Sunday 0-0. The women's soccer team beat St. Mary (Kan.) 1-0, and then lost to Illinois College 1-2 on Sunday. Both soccer teams will play home Saturday at 5 & 7 p.m. against Mount Mercy.

Now on to know your opponent this week for the 6 p.m. (Central) kick off between William Penn and Waldorf. The contest will be carried locally by MCG 22 TV and also broadcast on KBOE local Radio.

1.) The College was founded in 1903 as a result of “The Great Hotel War of Forest City.”

2.) In the spring of 1994, the College was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to offer its first bachelor’s degrees. Waldorf became a fully accredited bachelor’s degree granting college in February of 2001.
